Week 2 - The power of network 💪
According to my Human Design, I have an Opportunist (4) profile, which means wealth comes through networking (at least that’s what it said 😅).
Still, I can agree with it because, throughout my whole entrepreneurial journey, 99.9% of the projects I worked on came through word-of-mouth.
The craziest thing is that I know so many amazing people, and do my best to connect them with each other when I feel there is a click, but I still keep all my connections in mind 😲
So it’s time to fix it and create a personal database of amazing humans I know 🤩
First things first, I came to LinkedIn and downloaded my account’s data:
To do this, I went to “Me”→ “Settings & Privacy”

Next, “Data privacy” → “Get a copy of your data”

Then, I could choose to import “Connections” only, but why would I refuse to download everything 😏😅

After I’ve requested an archive, I should have waited for an email to be ready.
Meanwhile, I’ve created a Google form with 5 questions to ask:
💻 What do you do, and who do you work with?
🤝 Who you'd like to connect with?
🤩 What are you passionate about the most? (it can be professional, or personal, or both)
🤓 What are you doing for fun? (hobbies, interests, etc.)
✨ If you didn't need to work for a living, what would you do?
Next, I chose 10 people that came to my mind first and sent them these 2 messages:
Hey Name, I know so many amazing humans who I'd love to connect with each other, but sometimes I don't know what exactly they do and who they'd like to connect with 😲😁
so, I've decided to build my personal database of amazing humans to know better how I can possibly help and connect them with, and you're definitely one of them 😊
I have 5 questions for you:
💻 What do you do, and who do you work with?
🤝 Who you'd like to connect with?
🤩 What are you passionate about the most? (it can be professional, or personal, or both)
🤓 What are you doing for fun? (hobbies, interests, etc.)
✨ If you didn't need to work for a living, what would you do?
answer them here or in this Google form 🤗
and please don’t overthink, just write what comes to your mind right away! 😉
also, here are my answers to those questions just in case 😊
💻 What do you do, and who do you work with?
I help startups, scaleups, and fast-growing companies to build and implement a community-growth strategy to foster trusted customer relationships and organically grow their businesses with the help of their branded community!
🤝 Who you'd like to connect with?
I'd like to connect with founders and managers who understand the power of a community but have no experience building one for business and want to make it the most effective and genuine way!
🤩 What are you passionate about the most? (it can be professional, or personal, or both)
I'm passionate about helping people notice and amplify their strengths and highlight their experiences so they can learn and grow together!
🤓 What are you doing for fun? (hobbies, interests, etc.)
I love reading different books (from fairy tales to a practical handbook on cardiology 😲), listening to human-focused podcasts (such as DOAC), and learning languages on Duolingo (I'm doing 10 at the moment).
✨ If you didn't need to work for a living, what would you do?
I would be helping people tell their stories to connect with each other on a human level and supporting kids and young adults to find their superpowers and focus on growing them early on!
For sure, the hardest part was to answer these questions myself 😅 but it’s a very important part because it also helps those people to understand what I’m doing and passionate about, and if they feel the same way as I am, at some point, they refer me, too!
“tell not sell” 🤓
Also, my LinkedIn contact list is 8K, and you can imagine how much time it will take to go through all this list and send all these messages.
That’s exactly why I’ve added myself a daily ongoing task to go through the list, choose 5 right people, and send them a message.
A little trick that may help: in the list, I mark those whom I message with yellow color, and if they answered my questions with green, and after I messaged 5 people, I’ll add the blank space (that I will remove later) to easier find where I stopped the previous day.

But be aware that no matter how good relationships you have with others and how they feel about you, people are busy, and if you ask something harder than “yes/no,” it might take time.
I even updated my initial copy with this sentence 😅
“please don’t overthink, just write what comes to your mind right away!”
So far, out of 25 messages I’ve sent, just 5 folks answered me, but out of their answers, I’ve already learned something new about them and even liked them more 😊🤩
So, if you received this message from me (or will receive it), just know, I admire you and want to help you succeed as much as I can 😉🤗
Also, don’t worry about sending the same message to everyone; it’s not about starting a conversation uniquely, it’s all about continuing it personally.
And yes, no matter how an amazing expert you might be, if you really want to build a successful freelance business, you need other people!
You can do tons of things thanks to automation and AI, but at some point, you’ll reach a plateau on your growth journey that you can overcome only with others.
So why wait till you reach that plateau, if you can already start building your meaningful network 😉
P.S. In addition to 3 personal assessments I shared last time, I found one more:
HIGH5 strengths test - it’s freemium, you’ll receive some very high-level info for free, but to get the full report, it costs like $30.
I’m still thinking whether it’s worth it, but the good thing is once you’ve done it, you’ll receive some quick results and can always upgrade it later 😏
