Week 8 - Finally doing outreach and more 🤩
Okay, so last week, I prepared a list of people to whom I’ll send emails, and now it’s time to send them!
But before that, I needed to craft a better message, and since I learned that ChatGPT cannot browse websites, I had to go to each website and copy-paste more descriptions to my initial prompt.
And yes, I can do it manually since it’s like 10 emails, but I plan to send emails constantly, so I definitely need to automate.
I didn’t really automate it for the first emails because it takes too much time. Instead, I wanted to test if it works first, so I created a template in Google Sheets that collects a person’s name, company name, their mission, and 3 points how community can help them, so that I needed just to open my gmail, copy-paste email, title, and text, and click “Send”, it’s like 2 seconds per email 😁
Also, while sending an email, I’ve sent a connection request on LinkedIn, and when people accepted it, I’ve sent this message:
="Hey "&C6&", thank you very much for accepting my request and happy to connect here 🤗
I've sent you an email with thoughts on how a community can drive even more ROI for "&A6&", and I'm curious if you received it? 🤓
just in case, I've sent it here: "&H6&"
and yes, I used some tools to find your email, but have no idea if it's a real one 😊"Here's a little update: out of 12 emails and LI connection requests, 4 people accepted my request, but there have been no answers yet.
Which is still good. At least I know that my LI profile looks good in a way that 25% of startup founders accept it without any message inside :)
Since the email-finder tool I used here allowed me to get only 10 emails, I needed to find some more tools, so I’ve tried 6 more, and here’s how it went:
✅ Prospeo asks you to sign up and gives 75 free credits per month.
✅ Hunter.io gives 2-3 free searches, asks to sign up, and gives 25 searches and 50 verifications every 10 days.
GetProspect gives you some results and asks you to sign up, and after that, it gives 50 free email searches and 100 verifications per month (rather hard navigation inside, not intuitive UI/UX).
Snov.io - gives you some results and asks to sign up, and after that, it gives 50 free email searches (all in one, not easy to find just emails)
Skrapp.io works weirdly, I didn’t get it.
Anymailfinder - 5 free searches, no free tier, only 3-day trial
So far, my tools of choice are Prospeo and Hunter, but let’s see how it goes in the future 😏😏
Even though all those tools work pretty similarly, some of them allow you to find an email of a specific person (if you know their name and company website), and others give you all the emails connected to a specific website.
So, sometimes, I searched for all the company emails first and then checked those names in the company description on LinkedIn. Sometimes, it worked faster.
And only after sending 11 first messages manually did I learn about AI agents from this video, and after I watched it, I literally sat for 30 seconds saying:
“Woooooooooooow!”
To be honest, I said “fuuuuuuuck”, but let’s be polite 😅
So here is what I’ll be learning to deal with next week to automate my manual process, but I’ll still be searching for CEOs’ and founders’ emails and sending 3 emails daily.
Updates from the previous weeks and tasks:
By the way, I messed up a little with the Gumroad - I didn’t upload the pdf itself, and when 3 people messaged me about it (almost at the same time) I felt a litlle bad because didn’t check it first, and also very-very thankful to those folks both because of the bug they’ve told me about, and for supporting me by purchasing the playbook 🤗🤓🥳
Still, 3 people bought a playbook for 49 euros, which is definitely not all the money in the world, but for sure good, and it motivates me to create more playbooks, so next week I’ll be focusing on creating “Master my LinkedIn profile playbook” (the title is still work in progress) 🤩
Talking about the database of amazing humans:
I’ve sent 192 requests for folks to share more info about themselves, and so far, I've got 57 answers, which is awesome 🥳
In the coming weeks, I’ll be sending reminders to folks who haven’t answered yet 😏
Still, if you like statistics, I chose 192 folks out of 6885 contacts, meaning I wanted to get to know only 3% of my LinkedIn connections.
And it’s not because I’m connected with the wrong people, it’s more about having a personal click that made me want to get to know them better. And definitely, you might have a different percentage, but keep in mind that to get quality, you might need to go over some quantity first 😉
