Week 9 - Working more or smarter 🤔

This week, I had some conversations here and there and learned about some things:

  • if you’re proposing a comprehensive service to a client (such as building a community), you have to have something that can help you put your foot in the door, and this can be an audit (for example, I check the client’s business and tell them in what ways community can help them, what to track, and what they can do to make it happen - with or without me);

  • people are busy, and everyone needs their attention, so instead of sending a long read email (no matter how much it can help, they stop reading at the title), it’s better to spend more time on understanding their business and give them one really helpful thing that they can easily implement (or start thinking about).

Long story short, I understood that my initial cold outreach strategy wasn’t as effective as it could be, and I still spent too much time on it (and, tbh, it felt very robotic 🤖, and I really didn’t enjoy doing it).

So it’s time to tweak it!

How? I still don’t know, but my mind is on it 😏

Btw, I also learned about the Appolo extension, which can help find emails even faster. However, they also have this thing on the website: “Apollo doesn't currently apply GDPR safeguard controls to EU or UK contacts.” Since I’m in Europe (and GDPR is really a thing), I’m questioning all these cold email outreach ideas to folks in Europe and the UK. However, it can still work for other parts of the world.

So, for now, I’ll be searching daily for founders’ emails without sending cold emails (while still connecting on LinkedIn), and I will also ensure they are not in Europe 😁

Meanwhile, I’ve started working on “Master your LinkedIn Playbook” (it’s an early MVP, so please check it only at your own risk ) and noticed that it’s very easy to lose yourself in the music… oh not that.. 😁 it’s easy to lose yourself in the nitty-gritty of all the smallest details about the LI profile, but the question is:

If someone really need to know about a feature that can improve your visibility by 0.001% and may soon be gone after the next LI’s update?

So yes, I still have the initial structure and my personal experience, so I’ll be finishing that one in the upcoming weeks (and if you have any thoughts or ideas to add to the initial structure, please share them with me).

Also, it might look like nothing (at least I found myself thinking, " Oh, it’s easy, everyone can do this”), but I prepared all the structure, pictures, and templates for the Humans of Business podcast and shared already the first episode with Christine Vallaure, the founder of a learning platform moonlearning.io!

And it’s just the result because beforehand I’ve done so much more - made full rebranding of 2 resources I had - SalesHero YT channel, and Community Life on Spotify, meaning that changed all the links, descriptions, design, and even made transitioning videos to explain what will happen next and why to the current subscribers.

Why did I share this?

Because there is also a huge meaning behind this podcast:

  • it allows me to connect with amazing entrepreneurs and build meaningful relationships

  • every conversation is a learning experience that creates new neuron connections and sparks some ideas that I could be searching for forever for

  • It opens doors to other amazing humans (friends of my guests) that I wouldn’t even consider meeting otherwise.

So even when you do something that doesn’t feel connected to your business journey at all, there are still hidden benefits you have to cherish.

And if there are no such benefits - why the fuck are you still doing those things instead of focusing on your core stuff? 😲😁

Btw, here is the book (The One Thing) I feel like I need to revisit even though I’ve read it before 😅

In addition, I’ve got an invite to run a paid workshop on a community building topic, an interview that will be converted into an article about growing businesses with the help of community, and will be giving an in-person talk about skills you need to master to survive in the age of AI.

So, once again, just a reminder:

The moment you start taking actionable steps and talking about what you do to others, you’ll see the opportunities you couldn’t even think about before. So just go and do it, and remember to always do your best!
