Week 39 - How is Yurii always so positive? 🤪
Recently, in the Freelance Unlocked community, Cihan wrote, “How is Yurii always so positive?”, and, of course, I answered with “Easy - mushrooms 😲😅😂”
Fun? Yes! Honest? Not really.
To be very honest, I’m constantly doubting myself and everything that I’m doing. Even when it looks like a bold, wise move, for me, it’s just a gut feeling that I have because of dozens and hundreds of similar situations, or some books I’ve read, or podcasts I’ve listened to (I guess that’s exactly what they call experience, huh 😏).
Still, no matter how much experience I have, I don’t know what I don’t know (if I could predict the future, I’d buy a lot of Bitcoin in 2017 😅), and with every decision and every move that I make, I’m kinda accepting the uncertainty, and taking a risk of fucking everything up, or, in a best-case scenario, getting some cool results and looking like a pro 😎
What helps me not be afraid of fucking everything up is seeing every mistake and loss I've had as an opportunity to learn and improve, so I won’t make this mistake again (hopefully🤞), even if I’ll make many other stupid mistakes.
Also, it’s about not taking things personally because my work involves hundreds of conversations with different humans, and all those humans have their own problems, challenges, and personal goals that are not always in line with mine. There are many times when we’re not aligned, and we’re just not clicking, but in a month, things can change, so that’s exactly why I never stop after only one message to someone, but keep following up until they answer me or block me 😁
So yeah, tl;dr, what is on a surface isn’t always what’s inside, and the difference between someone who may look positive and someone who is not is just the amount of risk we accept and are willing to take, and the story that we tell ourselves about the world and people around us 😉
On the other note, here is the photo my wife recently made:

I like it very much, and what I’m also amazed is how many random steps led to this photo:
we randomly decided to go for a walk
I accidentally chose this park
we made random turns there to get to this place
the rain started to drop, and I looked up
I asked my wife to make a photo because camera on her phone is better
she took it the way she saw it.
It’s just a very-very shortened list of all the actions we’ve made to go there, and I truly believe that that’s exactly how success in life looks - you make hundreds of different turns, sometimes not knowing they’re right, and at some point you see yourself having such a beautiful picture in front of you.
But it only works if you make steps, otherwise, nah, it won’t 🤷♂️
So yeah, just like that… I keep playing with small videos, and here is another one 😉👇
