Week 36 - I'm writing a book 🤓
This week I’ve finished a book, “Choose Yourself” by James Altucher, and one of the things that stood out to me was to just go and say to one person why I’m grateful and admire them.
I have a mental practice when I’m reaching some kind of a milestone, I’m tracing it back to where it started, and who I met during a journey who helped me to reach that milestone. So when I read that part, I immediately recalled like 10 people I can message to right away, clearly knowing what I would say to them, and for some reason, I’ve never done that 😲
That’s exactly why I decided to message just one person I know every day and say to them how huge an impact they’ve made in my life, and what I’m thankful to them for—the worst-case scenario nobody answers me, but the best-case scenario they’ll smile and this day will be just a little better for them (btw, a small secret - I do it early in the morning) 🤗
Also, one more thing I took from that book is to become a super-connector, so if I think two people need to meet each other for some reason and they’re not connected yet, I just must go and introduce them! And since for now it’s rather hard to do, I still need to train my muscle, I’ll start with just connecting 2 people per week, and see how it goes!
On a bigger scale, I’ve thought that I’m connected with hundreds and thousands of people, and with the bigger part I have rather good relationships (I’m not saying we speak daily, but we stay in touch constantly), and also I love using the term “friendworking” which means for me that I connect with people to find common interests that will expand my professional network and bring all parties great opportunities, but I do it in a friendly human way with the end goal to become friends (hopefully 🤞).
So I’ve decided to write a book, where I will share my personal experience and also provide best practices I’ve learned from dozens of books I’ve read, tried, and implemented in my day-to-day life 🤩😎
I’ve even made the first step—created a Google Doc file 😅

And it’s not like I’ll be sitting and writing 1 page every day (who knows, maybe I will), but what I started doing already is paying attention to all the interactions I have with people and analyzing what works, what doesn’t, and why. Also, I pay attention to what I hear in podcasts and read in books related to the topic of human connections, so it’ll definitely be a fun journey, and who knows, maybe very soon you’ll hold a first edition of this book 😉🤗🤩
Btw, if you have any examples from your personal friendworking journey, or maybe even noticed something from my side that you think I’m doing well, please, share this with me, and you’ll help me to write this book faster 🤓
On another point, following the idea of highlighting my podcast guests as crazy, that I talked about in the previous newsletter, I’ve created a content calendar that looks like this 👇

Which means that every week I’ll tag a guest for at least once in a different kind of posts or comments on my personal LinkedIn page, and Community ROI company page, and by doing that I hope that more people will be able to see wisdom that person is sharing, and overall go and check an episode with them, and maybe even other episodes, too!
Also, I hope that because of that, a person will feel seen, feel good about it, and maybe even do some posts and re-posts from their side, and the Community ROI podcast will get more traction 💪
This week, I’ve just made the first round of such posts, and will definitely continue, so let’s see how it will work 🤓
And on a final note, I decided to remove my daily task “work 30 minutes on my business”, because I’ve understood that everything I do—every interaction with a human, every post, every comment, new connection, podcast episode, etc.—even if I do it for my clients, it’s all about building my brand, because in the end of the day it’s my life, and no matter if I work for someone or for myself, I show up genuinely as I am, and basically all the work I do is working on my business 😊
Also, here is another short video on how much your life is worth 😉

“Creating a story around what you’re doing is incredibly powerful.” - Geoff Sharpe, Creator Spotlight podcast
