Week 20 - Doing client work still is building your brand 😎

This week started with an interesting question from Jomiro about how to ensure that you can easily change AI tools and not get stuck with one thing just because of the history of the conversations you have with it. And Candice shared this wisdom:

“I've built a 200 page Brand Blueprint that outlines every aspect of my business, products etc. That makes it a LOT easier to train any AI tool on my business context without becoming reliant on a tool not going down :"D”

She even shared the resource where she learned to do that, so I’ll leave it here just in case 🤓

The next thing I was working on was updating my Notion resources database, and improved 3 parts:

  • told more of my human story and added links to the interviews that some amazing humans did with me specifically about my human side (yes, it’s 4 hours of content, still, if someone really wants to get to know me better, now they can do it 😲😅)

  • added more context to my professional part, wrote what awards I received, at what conferences I’ve made keynotes, and of course, that I’ve created from scratch the conference for the sales experts in Ukraine (and I can tell you, bragging was hard, I still work to become better in it 😁)

  • and the best part - humans’ feedback about me, and when I was re-reading those things that people told me at different moments, really warmed my heart very much, and I highly recommend everyone to create something like that, so in the moment of your lows, you can come to it and strengthen your spirit 💪

Also, some time ago, I heard about the DOAC podcast’s community, and of course, I immediately joined it, and when I talked to people inside (even though it’s extremely hard because of the shittiest platform they use 😲😅), I’ve thought about one more idea:

I listen to every episode, still, it’s usually 2-3 hours long, and it’s hard to choose something to learn, so I decided to create a knowledge base of it where I collect one personal story that I liked the most, 1 mindset shift to implement for myself, and one actionable step to take. So yes, there are only 2 entries for now, still, it’ll be growing 🤓

And yes, this is one more weekly action thing for me to take, and it’s pretty easy to do juts in 4 steps:

  • listen to the episode

  • transcribe the episode using Turboscribe

  • get a summary and 10 insights using chatGPT

  • choose one insight based on my personal listening experience

Piece of cake 🍰

Also, this week with Nicole, we’ve done an enneagram of my personality. In very simple words, it’s something that helps to discover your personality and learn how to grow into the best version of you 😎

So I’ve learned that I’m a very logic-driven person, still with some emotions inside, not just a cold mind 😅 and I can tell you it was a pretty interesting self-discovery experience, and we’ll have another session in 2 weeks where we’ll talk more about how to use all the findings we made in real life 🤓

In addition, this week I’ve understood that the work I do for my clients is highly interconnected with building a professional brand, because only this week I’ve connected with like 20 recruiters and freelancers in Poland (because now I work with freelancermap and their expansion to the Polish market), and every connection and the upcoming conversatin happened only because of my personal traits and human approach I use.

It’s not because someone introduced or connected me with those individuals. It’s because I honed my connection skills over the decades and now utilize them to achieve the best results for my clients, the overall freelance market, and the future of work.

And, every conversation with a new person is an opportunity to build lifelong human relationships that will work both ways, and, of course, in those conversations, I am who I am.

So yeah, here is the learning I’ve had:

Everything you do for a client also helps build your professional brand!

Btw, in a random conversation with a colleague, I mentioned the book I’ve heard about, but never actually read - Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon. And I decided to finally read it, and I’ve done it like in a day - it’s very interesting, easy-going, and extremely valuable for every creator, and I believe that business owners are creators 😏

This book was so fast and easy to read, that yesterday I’ve already finished the second book in a trilogy, “Show Your Work!”, and now I’m already halfway through the third one - “Keep Going” 🤓

And that’s it for this week, and see you next week!

Wait, stop! Won’t see you next week!

Next week I’ll finally be on a vacation I haven’t had for 2 years, so see you in 2 weeks 😉🤗
