Week 19 - Two unexpected learnings 😏

This week I’ve got 2 things to learn - one personal connected to professional, and one professional connected to personal 😏

The crazy-fun part is that I’ve been beaten by a dog while protecting mine 😲 Like nothing big, just a little damage, still the shittiest part is that the dog bit through my skin.

First, I thought, ah, okay, it’s a private dog so it’ll be okay… still it’s not! Because rabies is a deadly desease, and it’s exactly the case when it’s better to overreact than not react at all 😲 so I went to a doctor, got to know what kind of vaccines I need to make, and made them.

Still, even though I’ve been beaten on Sunday, I did the vaccines only on Thursday, and because my wife raised my awareness. And, I’ve got an old tale in my mind that if an animal beats you, you have to receive 40 vaccines in your belly 😲 and it’s not.. there are just 5 vaccines that go into an arm.

And, tl;dr, this stupid belief and underestimation of the real risk led me to slacking on a life-threatening issue. So, the lesson learned is to talk to people, gather the necessary information, and make your move!

The next lesson is that quality goes hand in hand with quantity, and you don’t really have to choose just one. I learned this by asking for feedback on my Notion resources page.

I noticed that folks gave me so much feedback that I didn’t have time to really improve the page, and I still went on asking more and more questions. And the moment people started to repeat the same thing, I was like “okay, time to improve, and I’ll continue asking only after that”!

So what folks were saying is that I needed to add:

• more personal info about me (like my backstory),

• more brag - talk about personal experiences, awards, and other pro things (the hardest part because it’s hard to brag) 😲😅

• add what people say about Yurii - it was easy since I’ve had “what people say about Yurii” page for personal usage :)

• add a little more explanation of what this page is about, and create a user journey, so people know where to start exploring all the tons of value I share 🤩

So yes, next week I’ll be working on all these updates, and the bonus - afterwards I’ll update my LI about section based on the updated story 🤓

• invite 5 people to support the post with my services

• tell 5 freelancers about the Freelance Foundation course

• participate in a secret LI support group

• read a self-development book/listen to a professional podcast for 15 minutes

• make a valuable post/comment on LinkedIn

• work 30 minutes solely on my business 😎

Weekly actions:

• transcribe one new episode of the Creator Spotlight podcast and learn something from it

• transcribe one new Simon Quibb’s video and learn something from it
