Week 12 - You gotta get up and try, try, try 🚀

This week I’ve been full on the connections-building mode and not because I was connecting with potential cliens (still who knows 😏), but because of the Freelance Unlocked conference that happens just in 10 days, and I was and in the upcoming 2 weeks will be meeting many-many freelancers who will join this conference very soon!

Out of all those people, not that many are ready to overcome their introverted nature and introduce themselves in front of 300+ unknown people (in a WhatsApp group), no matter how hard I try to help them do it, and no matter how much just a message can benefit them.

That’s exactly how I know that someone who can do just a little extra step is already far in front of other same-level experts, and that’s how you stand out 😉

Also, so far, I had four conversations with potential clients about community building, and none of them have converted yet.

Still, in the first conversation, I offered to build a community strategy and guide them from scratch.

In a second conversation (it was when I had already made The Business Community Playbook), I offered to build a community, and proposed to start with the playbook first, and see how it’ll go for them.

The third conversation was already with an audit part included, where I proposed a kinda the middle option (that I described here).

And the final conversation had these tiers (without even going to the main offer):

  • 49 euros - you can get a playbook on building a community around business goals, give it to your community manager, and do everything yourself

  • 400 euros (49 euros bonus) - we can schedule a workshop with you (and maybe the community manager, too) for 2 hours, where we'll talk specifically about the business you're building and how exactly to grow it with the help of the community (and I'll give the playbook as a bonus afterwards)

  • 1200 euros (400+49 euros bonus) - a workshop where I ask all the questions about the goals you'd like to achieve with your business and your excisting state of community, and I'll build a strategy roadmap of how to grow the community, and help mentor a community builder on how to implement the strategy.

I’ll keep testing and see how it works. Still, it’s all about providing as much value as possible for any budget a client might have.

Also, I have nearly 150 Community Life and Community ROI podcasts lying dormant (I mean I shared them once, and as time passes, no one knows they exist), and I decided to repurpose the content I already have by creating small videos with some nuggets of wisdom and start sharing-sharing-sharing it to highlight my amazing guests, and encourage people to check the full conversation with them!

By the way, I’m always seeking ways to make things easier, and now it’s about my posting on LI - so instead of just “teaching” something to someone in my Friday Humans Connections post, I’ll be making real human connections by introducing amazing people I know 🤩 and there is also where those small videos come in handy 🤓

And here are some of the results of the previous work:

  • Community Life podcast won the Best Community Podcast 2025 award 🤩 and I consider turning 118 episodes into a Humans of Community book to connect people even more, and, of course, to re-purpose amazing conversations that we have and make them live forever!

  • we’ve collaborated with one of the biggest insurers in Europe, Exali, and created an article “Scaling Your Business Through Community Building”, which is kinda great itself, and also it’s one foot at the door of maybe even building community for them, so let’s see 🤞😎

By the way, not “mind mapping” from here, but only because I know what I want already, and don’t need to overthink.

On Tuesday, I clearly understood that instead of waiting for clients to come to me, I can choose my clients and find a way to work with them! That’s exactly why I wrote this post, which is only the first step of me starting to work with supporting amazing creators through LinkedIn, Spotify, or YouTube. Because why yes? 😎🤓

And, of course, it’s just the first tiniest step to let others know about what I want, I also reached out to like 20 people who work at some of these companies, and one person even told me that there is might be such opportunity, so fingers crossed 🤞, and for sure I’ll keep reaching out to people there!

By the way, while inviting people to like the post with my services, I noticed that LinkedIn kinda robbed me of 10-15 likes because I counted every person who supported my post (and not just if they said they would do it, but saw them in the list of likes or comments), and the visible amount of likes under the post is less than people liked it in reality, which is really weird, and I believe some of the LI algorithms think I do something illegal and punish me for that 😲😅

The fun thing is that asking folks to support is also a great filter of who I think care about what I do, and who cares, because one of the humans I asked to support me (and I definitely do not ask everyone), removed connection with me on LI, which is amazing because now I know that it’s definitely not my kind of person 😅

So yeah, many interesting things and insights keep coming, soy stay tuned for the next week 😁
